Asbestosis and Asbestos
Asbestos causing disease Asbestosis is a fibrous mineral that occurs naturally, often found in materials used for building materials and used for construction before 1975. Asbestos is used extensively in the 1970s because of heat resistance and strength.
If asbestos is damaged, fine fibers, small and light into the air and people can be inhaled and eventually cause Asbestosis. These fibers move in the direction of air flow through the respiratory tract. When asbestos fibers inhaled fibers penetrate the lung tissue that trigger inflammatory reactions. Body identified the problem and send the blood cells and white as a defense to attack the fibers. Fibers usually will refuse to attack and destroy blood cells and white, causing inflammation and further scarring of lung, which is called fibrosis.
Inhaling asbestos fibers can cause scar tissue (fibrosis) to form inside the lungs. Scar lung tissue does not grow and contract normally, and can not perform gas exchange. Asbestosis disease severity depends on the duration of exposure to asbestos and the amount inhaled.
Asbestos exposure usually occurs in sources of workers mining and milling industries, construction, fireproofing, textiles and other industries. It also has been used in the production of paints, plastics, and automobile brake and clutch lining.
In families of asbestos workers, Asbestosis diseases associated with asbestos can also develop as a result of fibrous dust shaken clothing workers in the home. exposure can occur from particles brought home on workers' clothing. Asbestosis also attacked the people affected fibrous dust or waste piles from nearby asbestos plants.
Diseases related to asbestos include pleural plaques (calcification), malignant mesothelioma, and pleural effusion. Mesothelioma can develop 20-40 years after exposure. Workers currently less likely to develop asbestos-related disease because of government regulations. There is no known safe level of asbestos exposure. However, the higher thinking levels of asbestos and the longer the time a person has, the greater the risk of developing problems.
